Household bills:

Utilities, gas, water, telephone, and internet bills must be kept for up to 3 years from the date of payment. After this period, no one can demand proof of payment.

Tax documents:

PITs, returns, invoices, and bills must be kept for 5 years from the end of the year in which the tax returns were filed. After this period, the tax office cannot demand these documents.

Personal documents:

Agreements for opening a bank account, renting a flat, and using cable TV and internet must be kept for 3 years or more, depending on the term of the agreement.

Loan documents:

Loan agreements and proof of repayment should be kept until the loan repayment certificate is issued. The repayment certificate should be kept for 10 years from the date of issue.

Insurance documents:

The annual home insurance policy is valid for another 3 years after its term ends. Compulsory insurance policies must be kept for 10 years after the expiry date.

Indefinite documents:

Deeds of gift, sale and purchase of real estate or a car, establishment of property division, etc., should be kept indefinitely.
